Todd Slagg, Middle School Pastor
Family:
Wife-Kathleen
Son-Caleb
Daughter-Kylie
Background:
I was born in Grand Rapids MI and spent my first 11 years there. Then we moved to Arizona and I spent the next 9 years there. Went 2 years to Arizona College of the Bible. I moved to California in 1996 to work at Camp Hammer as a summer counselor. I loved it there so much I stayed. I sensed it was time to go to school and I finished up my degree (B.A. Bible and theology and Youth Ministry) at San Jose Christian College. Currently I spend as much of my time as possible with my family. I wrestle with my son (we also shoot and kick basketballs, soccer balls and any other thing that can be kicked and shot) and cuddle with my baby girl. Change many diapers every day. When the kids finally go to bed, my wife and I enjoy watching TV on the internet.
When you’re off the GBC campus what would we find you doing?
If you ever wonder where I am if I am not at the office or at the house, you can always check the local coffee shops. My family and I tend to spend a lot of time and money in the coffee shops. I also love to dirt bike and do some off-road driving. I like mud!
What is your passion?
I love talking about Jesus, the Bible, and how we can live in a relationship with God. I think hanging out with middle school kids is one of the greatest privileges anybody could have, it is a gift from God. I have a hard time understanding why more people don’t do it. I love being with my family. And I love riding on dirt bike trails.
Tell us a about a little known talent that you have:
Unknown talent, well I can talk to myself quite well. I have convinced myself to do things that are just plain crazy and stupid. You might say I am quite persuasive! I also have this natural skill of being highly cluttered. It takes mad skills to have stacks of paper on your desk and know where everything is that you need.
