Steve Richardson
Family:

I was married July 5, 2002, to my high school sweetheart Dannielle, we were both 24 at the time. (Yes you can do the math now) We have two children, Makenna, born February 5, 2005 and T.J., born June 10, 2007. We also have a dog, Jax, and a cat, Max, commonly known in our house as the “Ax Brothers”. Honestly, it wasn’t planned, the animals that is. We picked Max up from the pound with that name and we already had Jax. Currently, we on the lookout for a bird to adopt named Dax!

Background:

I was born in Watsonville, but grew up from year 0 to 18 in Soquel. From there I headed off to Sonoma State University where I graduated with a degree in Public Relations, and a minor in Business. I’ve also completed online seminary courses in biblical studies from Colorado Christian University. After spending a year in Boston, and about seven total in the Santa Rosa area after college, my wife and I are finally back home where we grew up. Currently, our family lives in Boulder Creek.

When you’re off the GBC campus what would we find you doing?

Probably chasing my daughter around the house. My time away from GBC is normally spent at the local park with the kids or on some type of family excursion. I love to play sports in my free time, though for some crazy reason I just can’t move around as quickly as I used to. Let’s be honest, it was never quick to begin with, but it’s even slower now. Just being outdoors, whether the beach, park, or on a walk, that always refreshes me.

What is your passion?

I have a lot of passions. My first is being the greatest husband and father I can be. That’s the most important ministry God has entrusted me with. My passion is them, being with them, loving on them and serving Christ with them. I’m also very passionate about the lives of teens. I know what a pivotal point it was in my life. What drives me is seeing a teen have the light go on and come to the realization that Christ is crazy in love with them. There are few things, if any; that give me more joy than watching somebody fall in love with Christ.

Tell us a about a little known talent that you have:

My older brother and I had a ping-pong table at home growing up and we’ve honed our skills for years. I fear no opponent; my skills are second to none. You hear that students, “second to none!” My other talent, as many students discovered on our snow trip, is in NHL Hockey on Sega Genesis. You can’t stop the spin-o-rama!
